Count by 10's and by 1's.

Printable mini cards for use with 100's charts.

Cut out the numbers and place them face down. Students to choose a starting number between 1 and 10 on a hundreds chart. Take turns to flip a card over and add or subtract the number shown on the card. Go until one student reaches 100 or in the high 90's.

Closest to 100 wins.

Variations:

• only add or only subtract.
• do it without the 100's chart
• add or subtract 100 to go beyond the 100's chart.
• see who gets the highest number with limited turns.
• record the additions and subtractions
• count how many turns it takes to go beyond 90
